KC's Premiere Plein Air Event Turns 12!
(September 15th, 16th and 17th, 2023)
We averaged around 25 artists participating in each of our 3 Quick Paint Purchase Events. This was our Saturday, Sept. 15th QP at the Discovery Center . Winner Jane Willhoite (see all paintings)
We wrapped the BCAW2023 weekend with a Sunset at the Brush Creek Community Center and Purchase Award Quick Paint. Winner, Karen Case.
During the weekend of September 15th-17th, 2023, Brush Creek Art Walk celebrated it's 12th Anniversary with a 3-day weekend of Outdoor Painting. Over 47 registered artists participated in the weekend event with all three of our $500 (sponsored) Quick Paint Events offering Purchase Awards. The resulting 72+ original painting submissions are currently on display at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center (4750 Troost) through the months of October-November. The remaining works will then move in December (2023) to the 1608 Locust Gallery (Lexitas Legal Services) in the Crossroads.

Getting these remaining works in front of the public and in a significant enough gallery space has been a struggle, but the works will remain online and for sale virtually through the Buttonwood Art Space through 2024.
(View and purchase BCAW2023 works online via BAS website).
This year's 2023 12th Annual Event, I would argue, was without a doubt, Kansas City's Premiere Outdoor Painting Competition this year. Expecting a minimum of 50+ Artists to pre-register by the start of our event weekend, we had 47 Artists participating in this year's event.
Our Awards Event on Tuesday, October 3rd was a huge sucess and I am posting the awards list (below). Look to the works listed online and match the artist with their work and make purchases ONLY ONLINE via the Buttonwood Art Space through 2024
